Effect of beneficiary participation in program design and implementation on satisfaction and acceptability among internally displaced persons in Borno, Nigeria

Abstract Insurgency and other security challenges have intensified across Nigeria with a resultant displacement of over million people from 100,000 households who depend on interventions government non-governmental organizations for survival since 2009. We conducted the study to determine level involvement displaced persons in planning, implementation review these interventions, effect participation satisfaction among camp dwellers selected camps Borno, Nigeria. A total 278 internally (IDPs) 9 IDP were surveyed using an interviewer-administered questionnaire. Data was collected Android-based Open Kit (ODK), exported into Microsoft Excel, analyzed SPSS version 21. Out respondents, 143 (51.4%) male, 82 (29.5%) respondents within age bracket 26-35 years above (mean 38.9±12.3), 78% married, 29.9% involved trading before their displacement. Among 256 (92.1%) had benefitted at least one intervention during stay camps. Over 96% beneficiaries female, compared 87.4% males, which statistically significant ( p <0.05).
